Our Vision

Picture
IATLC envisions an Idaho where every K–16 student achieves biliteracy and develops deep respect and appreciation for languages and cultures.

Our History

Founded in 1961, the Idaho Association of Teachers of Language and Culture (IATLC) is a long-standing, teacher-led nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting language educators across Idaho certificate of incorporation.

Operated entirely through volunteer leadership, IATLC has recently experienced a resurgence as a statewide collaborator, strengthening partnerships and expanding professional development opportunities.

In recent years, the organization has focused on building connections among world language, dual language, multilingual learner, and Native American language programs, with the Idaho Seal of Biliteracy at the center of its work to promote multilingualism and educational equity statewide.
