Fall 2018 Conference Dates and Theme

We are excited to announce that our next fall conference will take place October 4th-5th, 2018 at Columbia High School in Nampa. The theme for this year's conference is "Languages in Motion." We will share more details as they become available.

The 2017-2018 Idaho World Languages Teacher of the Year is Katie Baker, Heritage Middle School Spanish teacher.  Katie started her interest in education at University of Oklahoma where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Norman, Oklahoma then came to Boise and is now teaching seventh and eighth graders at Heritage Middle School.  In the last several years, she has written and published teacher's guides and novellas for Spanish I and II students as well as grants to encourage Spanish students to read.  She has also developed original curriculum to engage students with varied learning styles.  Some of her accomplishments are: National Merit Scholar, Secretary of IATLC, Heritage Middle School Teacher of the Year.  Congratulations Katie Baker!
